Rehabilitation

The Psychosomatic Centre’s Rehabilitation Department has 150 beds and modern single rooms. Here, patients are restored to health to the extent that they can return to work and resume their social lives.

Our range of therapeutic services and treatments includes psychoanalytic and psychodynamic therapy, as well as behavioural therapy, including counselling and hands-on therapy. The psychotherapists have additional expertise in specific treatments such as schema therapy, trauma therapy, EMDR, relaxation therapy, sex therapy, pain therapy, gerontopsychosomatics and neuropsychology. Sport and exercise therapy, physiotherapy, physical therapy (baths, mud, massages), creative dance therapy, body experience, nutrition counselling and relaxation are additionally used to support the healing process. Movement therapy and endurance sports can stabilise the mind and alleviate the accompanying physical complaints of psychological disorders. Dance and painting unconsciously open the mind without having to the need to express oneself in words, thereby expanding the capacity for perception. The imagination is reawakened and joy in one’s own abilities is felt, thereby boosting self-confidence. Therapy can be directed specifically at work-related problems (e.g. workplace bullying).

Individual and group work

Alongside individual psychotherapeutic treatment for each patient, group treatment is provided. There is a broad range of group programmes ranging from psychoanalysis-based to cognitive-behavioural approaches for specific disorders.

Our psychological rehabilitation department was awarded the “Medical Rehabilitation of Proven Quality” seal by the Hospital Association of Schleswig-Holstein (KGSH) in 2009.
